Oak is an authentic, nerdy, trauma informed therapist who believes in the power of creating a safe space for folx to be able to show up as their own authentic selves. Oak believes in empowering their Clients to have autonomy over their stories and lives. They pride themselves in providing a compassionate therapeutic space for Clients to feel capable of exploring all of their parts, including those that might hold feelings of shame. 

Oak has a B.A. in Theatre and Performance with a Focus in Authorship from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Oak also holds a M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University. Oak is trained in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and completed the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy fellowship at the Chicago Crown School of Psychology at the University of Chicago. Oak has experience as an addictions counselor at PHP/IOP levels of care and as a sexual assault counselor through an ICASA center. Their varied experiences allow them to provide a creative approach that centers clients as the expert of themselves. 

Oak has experience working with Clients of all ages and believes in meeting every Client where they are at. Oak balances compassion, understanding, and accountability to help Clients feel accepted and capable of making the changes needed to create a life they want to live. Oak believes in acknowledging the impact of the larger systems around us to help Clients process what is out of their control to better focus on what is within their control. By meeting every Client where they are at, Oak prioritizes providing hope in even the most seemingly hopeless of times.
