Oak is an authentic, trauma informed therapist who believes in the power of creating a safe space for clients to be able to show up as their genuine selves. Oak prides herself in providing a compassionate and non judgemental space for clients to share their story.
Whether working through trauma, learning tools and strategies to manage ADHD, or seeking support for disordered eating, Oak provides hope for their clients. Oak balances empathy, understanding, and accountability to help clients feel accepted and capable of making the changes needed to create a life they want to live.
Oak has a B.A. in Theatre and Performance from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Oak also holds a M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University. Oak is trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and completed the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy fellowship at the Chicago Crown School of Psychology at the University of Chicago. Oak also has experience as an addictions counselor at PHP/IOP levels of care.
When not at work, Oak enjoys going on adventures with her two elderly dogs and snuggling with her cat at home while playing sims, reading a book, or watching one of their many fandoms. Oak also has a green thumb and is currently working on creating a herb and produce garden.
